| GROUPS 2009
Group therapy offers the opportunity to address issues, concerns, and problems in an interpersonal setting with peers and a therapist leader. Group therapy provides a safe place to work on relationships, intimacy, and self-esteem. It is often an invaluable adjunct to individual therapy.

COLLEGE-AGED STUDENTS
For college-aged students who are feeling unsettled and not yet connected or who are experiencing anxiety or social problems.
When: Thursdays 4:00 - 5:20 p.m.

COPING SKILLS FOR WOMEN TRAUMA SURVIVORS (two groups)
These are two on-going cognitive-behavioral groups specifically designed to help members more effectively manage the bio-psycho-social impact of interpersonal trauma. The groups are organized in a modified DBT format. The skill sets taught include mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotions regulation and interpersonal skills. Group members will gain a better understanding of the impact their trauma history has in their lives, and they will learn specific skills to address and diminish post-traumatic symptoms.
When: Monday evenings, 4:05 - 5:35 p.m.

WOMEN WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER
This is an on-going group for individuals whose lives have been significantly affected by the symptoms of Bipolar or Schizoaffective Disorder. The group offers a supportive environment in which to explore the impact of chronic mental illness on such issues as self esteem and relationships. Symptom management, symptom relapse prevention and goal setting are important aspects of the group process.
When: Monday afternoons, 2:30 - 3:45 p.m.

COPING SKILLS FOR PEOPLE WITH CHRONIC MEDICAL CONDITIONS
This ongoing psychotherapy group offers coping skills drawn from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and other sources. Participants will have a place to share about their struggles redefining hope while living with a medical condition and to ease the isolation many feel when faced with illness. Group members may also benefit from discussion of their interactions with the health care system.
When: Wednesday afternoons, 1:00 pm - 2:15 pm

WITH DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY
An ongoing group for men and women who are dealing with issues of grief, loss, loneliness, and disappointment. Issues such as intimacy, trust, safety will also be explored with the goal being personal growth and a deeper capacity for living one’s life with others.
When: Thursday mornings, 7:30 am – 8:45 am

An ongoing psychotherapy group for younger adults in their 20’s and 30’s. The group is for individuals who want to work on relationship, intimacy, and identity issues.

MIXED ADULT GROUP
An ongoing group for men and women ages 30 to 60 who are in recovery from a psychiatric illness such as Major Depressive Disorder or Bipolar Disorder. Group members use the group process to understand themselves, improve self-esteem, and resolve common relationship problems while also coping with the difficulties of a chronic mental illness.
When: Monday mornings, 10:45 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

MIXED ADULT GROUP
An ongoing group for men and women ages 20s through 40s who feel isolated or have few friends. Group members struggle with employment difficulties that are often hampered by difficulty with social skills or by low self-esteem. The group focuses on these issues as well as issues of intimacy, trust, and relationships.
When: Tuesday nights, 5:45 - 7:00 p.m.

OUT OF THE BLUE: SUPPORT GROUP FOR NEW MOMS
This group provides a structured and supportive environment in which new mothers can manage postpartum symptoms, connect with other moms, and learn from their experiences.
When: Wednesday mornings, 10:00 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.

MOTHERING
AFTER MOTHERLOSS
A six-week group for mothers of young children who have experienced the loss of their own mother. This is an opportunity for women to share their stories and journeys with others who have had to develop family life after the death of their own mother.
When: Monday mornings, 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

PREGNANCY AFTER LOSS
This is an on-going group for women. The group will address the trauma that accompanies pregnancy loss and will provide support for mothers who experience anxiety and confusion that often accompany a subsequent pregnancy.
